About

MMO Authority

MMO Authority is a blog covering free to play MMOs. The number of f2p mmos on the marking has exploded over the past few years, and the freedom they are giving players and developers is completely changing the industry. We’re here to talk about everything from game mechanics to business models, or just anything we find interesting about a f2p mmo we’re playing. So, let’s see where this all leads.

Sincerely,
The MMOA Team

Hey there, keymakr here (but just call me key). I’m a student studying civil engineering, and I love mmos. Six years ago I started playing Matrix Online and got hooked on the community of the game. Since then I’ve been through more mmos than I can remember, and most of them being free to play titles. Through all of that I’ve met some fantastic people; both young and old, social and hardcore; and gotten to learn a lot about gaming as well as life from them.

So, why am I writing here? We’re on the verge of a revolution in free to play games. We’ve started to see some serious innovation here, we’ve seen social gaming (many of them practically being f2p mmos) take leaps and bounds forward. We’ve seen new ways to get money to make a game through services like kickstarter, and we’ve seen some incredible mmos get launched. This is an unbelievably exciting time, and I’m ecstatic to be here and to be any kind of part of it.

PS- If you’re one of those fantastic people I’ve met in game, leave a comment saying hi! A lot of you guys I haven’t gotten the chance to keep up with, so I’d love to hear from you all again.
